Removals from Hayes to the Netherlands

One of the shortest legs on our corridor — Hayes to the Randstad and beyond, into Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague, Utrecht and Eindhoven, with the customs side done for you.

CROSSING · the short North Sea crossing or the Tunnel, then the E40 through Belgium into the Randstad

The Netherlands is a short, efficient leg — off the crossing and through Belgium into the Randstad without a long overland haul. That makes it one of the more economical corridor runs, and a good candidate for a shared slot if you are not filling a vehicle.

Dutch city addresses come with their own quirks: canal-house stairs that were never built for a wardrobe, gable hooks instead of lifts, and streets where a large vehicle needs a parking dispensation. We survey for exactly these things, because "we will work it out on the day" is how a move ends up stuck on a bridge in Amsterdam.

Full households travel dedicated; partial moves consolidate with others heading to the Netherlands on the same scheduled leg. Either way the customs export and import entries are prepared in Hayes so the crossing is the only thing between your goods and the delivery address.

On this leg

What’s included

Survey and written quote

Access checked at both ends, including hoist and permit needs.

Export packing

Wrapped and listed for the crossing and the road leg.

Customs entries

Inventory and declarations lodged before departure.

Dedicated or shared transit

A whole vehicle, or a slot on a scheduled Dutch run.

Delivery and reassembly

Including gable-hoist handling where the stair will not take it.

This is a short leg, so transit is usually quick — but the exact window still depends on the crossing and whether you travel dedicated or shared. Your written quote gives the realistic window for your move rather than a stock figure.

The paperwork

What the Netherlands needs from you

We prepare and lodge the customs entries — but a few documents have to come from you. Here is the short list, in plain terms.

Inventory (packing list)
The valued, itemised list underpinning the customs entries.
Transfer of Residence
Duty relief for used household goods entering the Netherlands on a genuine relocation.
BSN or proof of registration
Evidence of your Dutch address or registration where the entry requires it.
Passport / ID copy
Identity for the household-goods owner.
Half a household on a shared run to Rotterdam. They were clear we were paying for the space, not a made-up minimum, kept us posted on the crossing, and turned up when they said they would.

Questions

Hayes → the Netherlands, answered

My Amsterdam flat has no lift — is that a problem?

It is common and we plan for it. Many canal and older city flats are delivered by gable hoist through the window rather than up the stair. We check at survey whether a hoist is needed and arrange it as part of the job.

Is a shared slot worth it for a short leg like this?

Often, yes. Because the Netherlands leg is short, a shared slot can be very economical for a part-household. We will quote both so you can see the difference and choose.

Do you deliver outside the Randstad?

Yes — the whole country. Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague, Utrecht and Eindhoven are frequent stops, but we deliver to any Dutch address off the nearest trunk route.
